Sun temple in Konark
It was an awesome experience to be in State of Orissa. we were there on the way when me and my parents were on a pilgrimage to Puri and further to South India. I planned this trip to Konark by a locally hired transport from Puri to Bhubneshwar via Chandrabhaga Beach and Konark. If we talk about the Sun temple it is a must visit site if you are visiting Orissa. The temple is devoted to the Sun (Surya) God. According the Hindu mythology the Sun God has been adorned as the source of all the energies on earth, perhaps this was the first attempt to devote him by a temple. the architecture of the temple is marvelous and heart-throbbing. The temple is placed on a look like mighty chariot. which has many vast wheels seem like dragging the temple. A great piece of ancient Indian Architecture and Art is standing at this place. I feel more proud being an Indian.
