Stonehenge 1

Stonehenge came as a disappointment to me when I visited it on a dreary, dreary day in July 2009. The iconic slabs of stone appeared like a cluster of insignificant protrusions on a plain, featureless landscape instead of the towering stone slabs I thought they would be.

But gradually the magic of the place took over and when I left a couple of hours and a self-guided audio tour later, I was happy. Happy to have been there.
