Jantar Mantar , Jaipur Hareesh haridasan

Indians have contributed a lot to the field of astronomy. In Jaipur, Rajasthan you would come across this magnificent monument called Jantar Mantar. This was made by the Maharaja of Jaipur , Jaisingh II. He was keen on this topic as a result during his reign he made similar observatories in Delhi, Ujjain, Mathura and Benaras. Of these the one`s in Delhi & Jaipur are quite famous. The complex consists of many equipment which gives information related to time and movement of sun, position of stars, and other heavenly bodies.
The image is of Samrat Yantra which is the biggest yantra in this complex. The angle of this triangular structure matches which the co-ordinates of this place i.e 27 degree.
