One thing not miss here
Each mountain stations as you get to the top. Make sure you buy a walking stick so they can inscribe each of their unique stamps along your journey.
Stayed at
There are rooms at each station if you plan far enough ahead.
Ate at
The food I brought, candy at each station and the best tasting ramen ever at the top of the mountain.

So this was the first time I climbed Mt. Fuji. I regretted never being able to do it when I lived in Japan as a kid, ( I saw kids climb this thing so I know its possible) and I made it my goal to climb it the first chance I got. It was a long 5 hour climb if you keep at a constant rate, but when you get to the top, you are speechless. The feeling of accomplishment you get from climbing a mountain is one that cannot be put into words until you climb it yourself. The weather was perfect and the view was amazing. The best part is the free green tea you get at the shrine at the top! If you plan ahead you can even spend the night at the hotels up here. If you ever visit Japan during the summer, make sure this is on your list of things to do.
