Višegrad is located at the the far east of the Republic of Srpska, which is a part of Bosnia and Hercegovina.Already several times before I visited Visegrad and every time excites me the feeling that gripped me when I walk the city. For all who read Ivo Andric staying in Visegrad is certainly unique experience to see the city still preserved with the charm of those times. Bridge is definitely the most responsible for this but the people who live there also. The Drina River is divine, its color and strength leaves you breathless and a bridge that stands firmly against it by connecting its shores for centuries preserving the stories of people who cross him are part of the charm of Visegrad. This year Andrićgrad is opened which is certainly an attraction that takes you even further into the history of this region and in a subtle way you approach people who have lived for centuries in the Balkans. Cruising the Drina at one of the tourist boat’s is a unique experience, beautiful Drina canyon to see and only then realize the power of the river which you sail. Visegrad is known for its gastronomy, local food, great variety of very good restaurants that offer traditional meals prepared in a manner in which they were prepared, and a hundred years ago. I recommend that you first read a book “The bridge over river Drina” and then visit Višegrad to personally convinced of this!Have a nice trip!
