Alhambra, Generallife and Albayzín
September 2011 — Our trip to southern Spain included three days in Granada, site of the Alhambra, Generallife and Albayzín. The old Moorish palace sits on a hill above the city. I wrote about our visit on my blog, Cosmic Smudge. We spent two days touring the Alhambra fortress and gardens and it still felt like we could have spent another day there.
Be sure to buy your tickets as far in advance as you can. Visitors are allowed into the Alhambra Palace in half-hour intervals based on the reservation time stamped on their tickets. When we were there, the ticket takers were very strict about this. Trip Advisor has instructions on how to get tickets.https://www.gounesco.com/heritage/proof/alhambra-generallife-albayzin/https://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/gounesco.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/23142554/Alhambra-Generallife-and-Albayz%C3%ADn-1024x678.jpghttps://s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/gounesco.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/23142554/Alhambra-Generallife-and-Albayz%C3%ADn-150x150.jpgAlbayzín,Alhambra,Europe,Fortress,gardens,Generallife,Granada,heritage,joe newman, spain, world heritage travel
