Travel, photography & food have always been my passion. Many a times I thought of putting my Passions together and start blogging. Finally I get to start now.
My First Blog. My first Travel with an Aim. First time with travel partners.
Am not that great at words..hence chose to do a Photoblog (I don’t even know if such word exists).
It all started with Ajay who was planning for Pattadkal Trip – immediately I said yes and then Sairam joined us. Since it was very hot, thanks to the suggestions by the group members, we planned to travel in comfort. We hired a cab and started our journey on the 4th of May 2012 Friday 9 pm.
Our first stop was at Hill Park, a nice place 60 kms from the Hyderabad where we had our dinner. The first photo on the blog of the Car displayed at the Entrance – funniest thing I have ever seen – is from there. The journey continued and we took turns to be awake so the Driver wont feel sleepy.
At around 8 am we reached Pattadkal. Initially we planned to go to Badami, get freshened up and then come back to visit Pattadkal. So we surpassed Pattadkal without stopping. But after 10 Kms we realized that we would be ending up spending the whole day in hot Sun. Hence we stopped and took a U-turn back to Pattadkal. All of us brushed our teeth on the road. Ajay suddenly disappeared into some small store far away – just to get the day’s Newspaper (Owner too needs a proof).
Good that we stopped by – since it was just 9 am, there were hardly any tourists. We spent an hour going around the place. Since most of you all have already written a lot about the place..I chose to post more pics than write up. My Story of Pattadkal can be read through the Pictures.
We found few a ladies selling traditional North Karnataka breakfast..Jowar Roti & Curd with some pickles..we thought of having a quick bite. Day Started with brushing & breakfast on road. Since we ate well..we had enough energy to cover Aihole enroute Badami. I really felt very sad at the very first sight of the Aihole Monuments. This was the first time I have ever seen the Monuments which form our Heritage in such dilapidated condition. Local Kids were our guides and they explain about the temple. But since we were very tired we couldn’t spend much time there and started back our journey to Badami.
Finally reached Badami, checked in to a hotel, got freshen up and all of us slept off. We had lunch at the hotel and again relaxed for a while.
Around 4 pm we went to Badami caves. Must say, what an amazing place. I have always seen it in movies but never ever knew that it was Badami Cave. We started climbing up. Awesome Sculptures on the Cave walls. Above all I was Awestuck by the sight of the lake, at the foothill of the Main Caves. We spent the evening around the lake and trekked till the topmost part. Here at a point I could see Sun Setting on one side and Moon Rising at the other side in a straight line. I can never forget that experience.
After a tiring trip we thought we could savour ourselves with good dinner. We went to Heritage Court, a very nice place. Dont miss the Lemon Leaf Rice – it was yummy licious…
We spent the night at the hotel and started back to Hyderabad on Sunday morning itself. Little did I know that Hampi was just around 140kms from Badami. I missed it, have to make a trip again. We reached back to Hyderabad by Sunday Evening.
Thanks to my Travel Partners Ajay & Sairam for making it an Awesome trip. Special thanks to Ajay..for starting this forum..and luring the members with special offers..so that lazy and busy people like me take out time to travel and also to blog about their experience..Three Cheers to you Man..way to go..
