Altai

Citizen’s groups and residents’ associations are compiling a proposal for world heritage status in the Mumbai locality. This is a very positive news, when the locals value their local heritage conservation and preservation becomes much easier.

Climate change is affecting the heritage of the indigenous peoples of Altai, Russia. Ancient Kurgans or burial grounds are endangered because of the effect of climate change on the permafrost which is melting and disappearing in the region.

Siu Sai-wo, chief editor of Sing Tao Daily, writes about his experience from his younger days climbing up Tianshan mountain which was added to the world heritage list this year.
