Great Smoky Mountains National Park
Situated in the United States , Great smoky Mountains national Park is a World Heritage Site as claimed by the UNESCO. As many as 3500 species of animals and plants altogether.
Many activities can be done in the park ranging from roaming in the wood to hard core fishing,riding, picnicking etc. This place is a lovely choice for recreational activities.
There are many endangered species here and the vegetation changes quite quickly.The place has what all it needs to be called a WHS. Waterfalls, sceneries, special creatures, dam and a beautiful changing climate when sometimes there may be orange sky or blue mountains. While researching on this particular place, i feel like visiting it atleast once in life. This place is exceptionally beautiful with boasting of a lovely history of 4 pre columbian Indian cultures: Woodland, Archaic, Palaeo-indian and Mississippian.
According to the scientists, only about 17% if total plants and animals that live in the park are known!
These mountains are known as the “salamander Capital Of The world”
There are 30 different species of Salamander in the park.
The tallest concrete dam – Fontana Dam stands on the east of the mountains at 480 feet, located on southwestern boundary of the park.
there is a place called THE PLACE OF THOUSAND DRIPS , during wet periods, this fall gives rise to numerous small channels around rocks.
There are 9 species of native shrubs in the park.
It is one of the few places in the world where black bears are found strolling in the open and one must take care of that.
