Filming the heritage!
This article boasts of our rich culture and beautiful sites, beautiful enough that the film makers couldn’t stop themselves from using the locations to the best.
The first movie which I would like to talk about is Fanaa. Kajol made her comeback through this beautifully presented picture fanaa. The sites such as qutub minar, red fort etc have been used extensively in the movie since aamir khan plays a tourist guide in the first half. Not just that, the beauty of Kashmir has also been highlighted in the movie.
The next movie is Rowdy Rathore featuring Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar. Even though it was a remake of a famous movie from the south, it didn’t fail to surprise us with the beautiful location they chose – Hampi! The action thriller it was, the sites of Hampi made it look exotic and fun!
The Myth- my third choice again involves Hampi and none other than Jackie chan is in awe of this place. Jacke Chan mentioned the beauty of the place specially mentioning Anjanadri Hills and the view from there. Even Mr. Stanley Stone, the director had lots of good things to say about it!
Okay now this excites me Dil ka bhanwar kare pukar song from the film Tere Ghar Ke Saamne starring Dev Anand and Nutan was shot completely within the Qutub Minar. Qutub Minar is a beautiful place and I personally endorse it to the people. I have chosen this particular song to emphasize the fact that qutub minar has always been this mesmerizing.
I love the beauty of North East India and I mention here the mountain railways of Darjeeling. It is a beautiful place and has been used extensively in various motion pictures like Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman, Barfi! And Parineeta. A popular song Meri Sapno ki Rani from Aradhana was also shot here where Rajesh Khanna was seen wooing the heroine.
As Indians, we wish to see and cherish the beauty of these places but are always unable to do so! Due to less time, energy or funds! These movies come to our rescue, they beautifully take us to the mountains of northern india to the ghats of southern india and that’s why we love movies! 😀
